What a beautiful day!

We were surrounded by family this morning as Presley was baptized at All Saints Catholic Church. It's days like this that I am reminded how lucky we are to have family close to us to celebrate with. It was a lovely ceremony and we had lunch at our house afterward. Presley is blessed to have Kati and Pierce as Godparents, and we are thankful that they agreed to play such an important role in her life.
She wore a christening gown that was hand made by Spencer's great grandmother and has been worn by many family members in the Daigle family.  Gives me chills to think about it because it is so special! She truly looked like a little angel today. I was also excited to get another use out of the gorgeous flower we had bought for her newborn pictures. This time it actually fit on her head! Ok, enough about her outfit....here are some pictures!

YUMMO...

We have been so eager to start feeding Presley something other than breastmilk. After 4 months, I am sure that stuff gets boring! We got the OK from the pediatrician to start rice cereal so we went ahead and started tonight. Really we are just hoping it makes her sleep all night again. The past 2 or 3 weeks she has been waking up about 2am almost every night. Which is really tough for us considering that we have had this wonderfully sleeping through the night baby since 8 weeks. Hoping a fuller tummy helps these parents out!
Daddy captured the event in pictures......
Her very first taste. Not sure how much actually got in her mouth.

Peace out boring milk....solid foods, here I come!

She sure knows when to open up for the spoon.

Hard to tell who was more excited.

Yup, I think she will have more tomorrow.

Overall, it was a huge success. And she is sound asleep! Ha, we will see if that lasts!

A Mommy Tip

So I am learning all sorts of things as a new mommy. One being that a "penny saved is a penny earned." I was absolutely floored to see how many diapers we went through in the first few months. I was determined to find a way to avoid having to buy diapers at the grocery store every time we made a trip. I discovered diapers.com and have saved some money by ordering diapers through them. However, the BEST thing is that the diapers are delivered to your door within 48 hours of placing your order....with FREE shipping. Now, I know they frequently have good sales at Babies R Us and Target, but there is something about coming home to 348 Pampers Swaddlers sitting on your doorstep that just makes your heart...and your pocketbook HAPPY!
See what I mean! It's a fabulous thing...2 months worth of diapers just waiting for us!

Four Months

Well, our little love bug is 4 months! We both had off work today and got to take her to the doctor. Going to the doctor is something we look forward to. Spencer likes going because he loves seeing how much weight she is gaining. I like going because I enjoy asking the doctor 100 questions in a very short amount of time. I usually make a list and then leave it at home....like I did today. We are lucky that our pediatrician is such a sweet lady and always takes time to answer all our question...silly or not.  There are no silly questions though, right?

Presley's Stats
 Weight: 15 pounds 12 ounces
Height: 25 1/2 inches
Head: 15 inches around
Eating habits: Takes a 6-7 ounce bottle or nurses 5 times a day. We will add in rice cereal twice a day this week.
Sleeping: Sleeps through the night 9pm-6:30am (usually).  We still swaddle, but are going to start to transition her out of that. She is definitely a cat napper. Seems to take better naps when she is at school than at home on weekends.
Tricks: Smiles, giggles, squeals, tries to roll over...she has not perfected it yet, loves to stand up, lifts head and chest when she lays on her tummy, sits propped up by pillows, stares at everything....seems like she is trying to figure out this world.
Personality: Content, calm, laid back, silly, loving. All the time! She smiles and talks to us all day. It sounds crazy, but she hardly cries. I think she is going to be such an easy going child because she is just such a calm, happy baby girl.

We are so in love with this girl!

How much can change in a year?

ALOT!!!! A year ago this weekend we found out that we were expecting our little peanut. Surprised, excited, nervous, elated, scared, worried, lucky.....those were just some of the emotions we felt when we first saw that positive test. I remember going out right away to buy an assortment pregnancy books and then begging Spencer to agree to tell our families right away. If you know me at all, you know that I can't keep any kind of secret.

And here we are just a year later with a 4 month old baby girl! Presley is such a joy in our lives and we still have to pinch ourselves because it's hard to believe that we get to call her ours forever.

So, what does Presley like to do at 4 months?
  • She loves to smile and coo. Pretty much any time you look her way she will give you a little grin or start talking your ear off.
  • She still loves her play mat and we attach new toys for her to grab and pull on.
  • She likes to look at herself in the mirror
  • She loves when we talk to her! If you stop and do something else, she will grunt until she has your attention again.
  • She is starting to push up with her legs and trying to 'stand' on your lap.

Morning play mat time
She officially turns 4 months tomorrow, so be checking back for her 4 month pics & stats. Spencer (husband of the year) surprised me with a Canon Rebel http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_rebel_t3i_18_55mm_is_ii_kit for Christmas. I have already been snapping away and can not wait to do a little mini shoot in her monthly outfit!

Christmas Whirlwind

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year! We sure did! We are lucky enough to have a lot of our family live in Houston, so we had many stops to make over the Christmas weekend. Starting at noon on Christmas Eve.......We had lunch with the O'Hara's, dinner and church with the Daigle's, waited for Santa at the Perry's, breakfast & gifts at the Perry's, lunch & gifts at the Daigle's, stopped by Granny & PopPop's, and dinner back in Katy at Perry's with Nanny & Daddo and the Sugarland O'Hara's. Phew, makes me tired just thinking about it. It was such a special Christmas & we just feel so extra blessed this year.

She is ready for Santa to come.

Presley's Great Grandma Daigle

Another Great Grandma! We were able to stop by Granny's on Christmas Day.

Daddo dresses Presley in her PJs....notice where the snaps are.

She was so very tired after a busy weekend.
