We have been busy in the Daigle house the past week or so. Getting the house decorated, planning our cookie exchange, Christmas shopping, working, and trying to find time to just sit and relax. I am off for two weeks and Spencer has been off this week too. Here's a little update on what we have done to get ready for Presley's first Christmas.
We get a real tree every year and this year was no different, we took Presley in the baby bjorn and she enjoyed looking at all the trees and helping us pick the 'perfect' one. Spencer puts the lights on and then I decorate. I just realized I have yet to take a picture of it all finished...but I will today. For now, here we are next to our tree this year, pre-decorations!
My friends and I started doing an annual cookie exchange last year. It is so much fun! Everyone makes 3 dozen cookies and brings an appetizer or a bottle of wine and we just eat and visit. Then we each taste the cookies that are out on display and vote for best tasting, best presentation, and best overall. Once everyone votes, the winners take home little prizes. It's great because everyone takes boxes of the assorted cookies home to share with family! Despite all the sugar in the room, Presley was the sweetest thing there this year. She was pretty good and enjoyed being held and being the center of attention for a while. Here she is all dressed up in her sweater dress for the evening. Those tights are so stinkin' cute...the have pink ruffles on the butt! Thanks to Barby (my mom) for that precious outfit!
Yesterday we finished our gift shopping and wrapping and we are ready for Christmas to be here. We will be busy, bouncing around from house to house, spending time with our wonderful families. We sure have a lot to be thankful for this year and we are ready to celebrate Presley's first Christmas. Can't wait to post about it and share pictures.

A big week....
This past week was a big one for our Sweet P (and mommy & daddy) as we adjusted to a new kind of schedule. I went back to work this week and that means that Presley started at her new 'school.' The first couple days were tough dropping her off. Like crying all the way to school tough. But once I saw how loved she is there, I now feel at ease about it. So no more tears for mommy. She is going to an in home daycare in the neighborhood of my school. Her teacher, Mrs. Miranda, watches 4 other little girls as well and they all just love Presley. Presley is the youngest & the only baby so she gets a lot of extra attention and love. We are so thankful & that we have a safe and happy place to take our baby girl during the day.
Spencer took off work on Monday to stay home with Presley. He finally got to see what I have been doing all day for the last 12 weeks. I think he would now agree that I was not on 'vacation' and taking care of Miss P is a full time job! They had so much fun & I got lots of happy pictures like this one throughout the day. Spencer now has Presley smiling at him every time he looks her way. I think she will be a true Daddy's girl.
She also turned 3 months old on Thursday. Pictures of her monthly photo shoot will be coming later this weekend!

Finally.....
Well, here we are 12 weeks after the birth of our baby, Presley, and I am just now sitting down to make my first post. I promise that this blog has been in the works since August! I am still learning my way around the world of blogging.
It is my hope that this blog will be an easy way for our family and friends to keep up with Presley as she grows up. I also love the thought of having a place to share all our trials and tribulations as a new parents. So far the ride has been nothing but sweet.....just like our little bundle of love.
Presley June was born on September 8, 2011 at 2:32pm. She weighed 7 lb. 10 oz. and was 20 1/4 in. long
