Nine.

Stats.....
Weight/Height: 20 pounds 9 ounces and 29 inches tall
Eating Habits: Takes four 8 ounce bottles a day. Eats breakfast, lunch, & dinner of fruits, veggies, & grains. Just started turning up her nose to anything pureed on a spoon. So I have been introducing all sorts of table foods.....with hesitation, because I am so afraid of choking. I am learning that anything cut up into the size of a cheerio and pretty soft is fair game. She will shovel food in her mouth for at least 30 minutes....and then we clean up half of it off the seat of the high chair & floor.
Sleeping Habits: Bedtime is about 7:30 or 8:00. She is still randomly waking up during the night. But, the No Cry Sleep Solution arrived in the mail today and I see 12 hour sleeps in our near future. HA!
Personality: Such a social butterfly! Today the nurse told me that she is such a people person and she is so right. Waves, smile, babbles at everyone. She is pretty much happy from the moment she wakes up. There are moments where I say she is very much 'my' daughter.....mostly when she squeals so loud and then does it again when she doesn't get a reaction. She is so Spencer when she smirks at you and does her little half smile. I love seeing us both in her!
New Tricks: Crawling-really fast, cruising around furniture, standing on her own for a minute of two, feeding herself with a spoon, says ba-ba, ma, hiiiii (sounds like that), da-da, and other sounds. She is really figuring things out on her own now, it's so fun to se her trying new things!
Happiest baby!

Tonight on the menu: peas, pasta, quinoa salad, mashed potatoes, & mandarin oranges.
We enjoy this girl more and more everyday! She's amazing.

Summmmmmmmer!!!!!!!!

I know I have discussed the perk of Spring Break when you are a teacher. Have I mentioned that you also get 10 consecutive weeks of freedom in June, July, & August? It's wonderful! Our summer officially began last Friday, and I am already worn out. I really need to remember to relax this summer and not try to pack as many things as I can in one day. On our first day, Presley and I traveled all over town.....literally. Picked up a gift in West U, had breakfast in our old neighborhood, shopped a bit on 19th street, visited Spencer at work, went to lunch, then came back and had a pool date with Erin. See....too much in one day. Need.to.slow.down.
Helping Daddy with some work, more like distracting him!
Miss P was quite a show off at Daddy's office. It was her first time there & she made it her second home. Crawling all over the place, pulling up on his co-workers pants. Luckily, most of them have children and all enjoyed watching her buzz around the hallways.

I am really looking forward to full days with my sweet girl. She is at such a fun, busy age right now and I am loving how I get to watch her grow and learn every second of the day!

Two great ETSY buys

I have only made about 10 purchases in my life and they have all been in the last year, but I am always so pleased with the communication and the products themselves. Let's see, my purchases include headbands and bows for P (of course), my fabulous camera bag, onsie stickers, soothie clips, a wooden door wreath, and a book sling. Pretty random purchases, I'd say.

Spencer's sweet cousin, Macy, is headed to Ole Miss in the fall and when we were invited to her graduation party a few weeks ago I decided I was not getting her a gift card and started hunting on Etsy for something Rebel themed. I found this at the Trendy Door Decor shop! Holli was quick and easy to work with and what is even better is she lives right in the area. So if you are in a pinch for a creative gift, here's an idea. I think these would be so cute for baby announcements, birthday party wreaths, and much more. Won't that look great on Macy's dorm room door??

You all know that we are building a new house and this means that Miss P gets a 'new' nursery. I was told my my husband/accountant that I was not allowed to completely redo her room. Not that I wanted to anyway. But you know, you live & learn & there are definitely some things I want her new room to have that the old one didn't. First on the list is a book shelf. Well I haven't been able to find one that meets all my book shelf requirements. Well, I take that back, I have, but it is on back order at Pottery Barn until September. Shocking! Everything I want form P.B. is on back order.  So I came across book slings at the BlueHouseJoys shop. I just placed my custom order and I will be anxiously awaiting it. It should fit perfectly under her window. Terri sent me several patterns for options of fabric and I went with a pink, gray, and white chevron print. It's going to be fabulous!

I have been by he pool with kids, more than just my one, all day! Off to sleepy....

The Headband

Does this photo say anything about her personality? She knows what she likes & she shows it! I somehow caught her expression with my slow iphone camera. Thought it was hilarious paired up with the sweet photo taken just 10 minutes prior.
Guess we will stick with the waterspout-bow combo.......

Playtime

Teagan and Presley sharing her new chair.
I absolutely LOVE play dates! We have had a few over the last month. That's another good thing about temporarily living in the burbs.....we have a few friends that have babies around the same age as Miss P.  It has been a lot of fun to get together with some other newbies to this whole parenting thing. And seeing the babies interact is so sweet and sometimes hilarious. I just wonder what they are thinking.
Presley and Lane in the pool.

Parker & Presley cooling off in the baby pool.
Enjoy some pics of Presley and her buddies. We are gearing up for a summer packed full of play dates. I plan on keeping her pretty busy..... or maybe it will be the other way around.

On the move.

My apologies for the lapse in blogging. No, I have not been on some relaxing tropical vacation, I have been busy busy with school ending and other really important stuff. Not really, I have been exhausted because my child refuses to sleep when sleep!
Presley is ON THE MOVE! She is all over the place. Crawling or scooting to something that she can pull up on. This girl can actually stand without holding on to anything for a few seconds. She impresses us everyday with how much she is learning.
On another note, she is a really rough teether. I told Spence that since she was the easiest newborn ever, we are going to have a hell of a time with teething, I just know it. Her second tooth showed up after a week of sleepless nights, runny nose, and fussiness.

I never even did an 8 month update. I guess I will share her picture now. And you will have to wait for stats on her 9 month. Isn't she as cute as a button? My mom and I took a few pics of her in the front yard after work one day. You should have seen the giganto sized mosquito bites (4 actually) she got. I felt terrible!

Our house is coming along wonderfully. Granite, cabinets, paint, stairway rail spindles, tile, and backsplash have all been chosen. Still looking like the end of June for move in. Waiting is really hard, but we are enjoying all the quality time out in Katy. It's nice being close to family.

up & up

.......Goes our bank account!!!!! Thanks to TARGET.

First off, I would like to confess that I can kind of be a brand snob. It is something I have been working on, well not really. But, I have when it comes to baby products. When you have this brand new to the world baby, you want nothing but the best of the best. I would have paid $10 per diaper if it promised to be made of the softest, rarest cotton you can find. Maybe not, but seriously, I went out of my way and still do to make sure what P has is the best that I can give her.
It took me 7 months, but I have learned that Pampers are not the only people that make good, absorbent diapers and Enfamil is not the only company makes healthy formula. Thanks to my good friend & mommy mentor, Julie, I have discovered Up & Up brand at Target.

180 diapers for $25.99= .14 cents per diaper
We switched over to their diapers and now, seriously, get twice as many for the same price. When I started her on formula, I talked to my pediatrician and she backs the Up & Up brand, reminding me that it is all approved by the same FDA. Sold! We use the one comparable to Enfamil Premium and have not had one issue. I bought a big box of their wipes and I can't wait to use them and realize, again, that Brand names aren't always better. Julie even told me that their baby wash is great too. Bye Bye Aveeno. Gotta think on that one because I am a little obsessed with the smell of that stuff.
We Love you , up & up.
Oh and if you have a Target card, you save 5% on every purchase. Spencer isn't sold on that yet, he says the last thing I need is a Target credit card. He's probably right, as usual.

Now, if only Target delivered!
